Did You Know About 826 Writing Center?

826 SEATTLE is a non profit writing Center that helps students, ages six to 18, develop their creative and expository writing skills. They have writing workshops, publishing projects, and one-on-one help with homework and English Language Learning - all FREE OF CHARGE.

Their Publishing project consists of comic books, family portraits books, short play from selected Student works that was created in the Workshop.

There are many ways we can help 826 Seattle and our youth. You could consider making a financial donation, contributing your time, or donating something on 826 Seattle wish list.

Volunteering: Tutoring, administration, special events, professional services.
Money: All at once or over time.
Wish List: Always something, always changing.
Honor a Teacher: Financial donations in the name of your favorite teacher.

Thanks and Have Fun Running the Country

A few days after the election, students from 826 centers around the country were asked to provide advice and guidance to their new President. The result was a stack of hilarious, heartfelt, and occasionally downright practical letters loaded with advice. You can buy a copy of the book at the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. UPDATE: Powell’s Books in Portland has asked some of the young authors to check in with Obama and send updates to their letters via the Powell’s Books Blog.
